The Mysterious Quarter and Napkin Trick

If you are completely broke and need a quick and easy way to make a couple bucks, you could perform the Mysterious Quarter and Napkin Trick.

First you go up to somebody who is sitting at a table or a bar and you ask them if they want to see a magic trick. They say "Sure." So you ask them if they have a quarter. The guy digs around and finally pulls one out of his pocket and sets it on the table. You then tell him to cover it with a napkin. So he takes it and lays it neatly over the quarter.

At this point you explain to him what you are going to do. You say something like, "Now I am going to move that quarter out from under the napkin," stressing, "without touching the napkin in any way."

Of course the guy doesn't believe you, saying, "Yeah, right! You'll probably just blow on it and the napkin will fly off the table."

You agree not to blow the napkin away and say, "I'll bet you the quarter that I can do it."

He says, "You're on."

So you then wave your hands over the napkin a few times. While you are doing this you say the magic words, "Abracadabra! Alakazam! Hocus Pocus!" Then quickly cup your hands together while saying, "There I got it."

The guy doesn't believe you. So you tell him, "Look under the napkin." He then lifts it up and you quickly grab the coin without touching the napkin in any way.

You win the quarter fair and square.

Perform this trick on eight people and you make two bucks in no time.
